Facetite Procedure Overview
FaceTite and AccuTite technology heats up and gently removes fatty areas. The FDA-approved Radiofrequency-Assisted Liposuction (RFAL) procedures and they are considered next generation treatments because the device penetrates more deeply into the skin and the results are more dramatic. The device heats the lower layers of the tissues under the skin and stimulates the body’s natural healing process to produce skin-firming collagen and reduce the signs of aging.
You will not feel discomfort during the procedure because you will be given a local anesthetic beforehand. You can expect some swelling and bruising after the procedure. IV sedation or general anesthesia is available upon request.
Most people take several days off from work during their initial recovery. You can expect to see some bruising and swelling for a week or more after your surgery. You will be instructed to help reduce the swelling with ice and other techniques. The treatment area will continue to feel numb for several weeks so you should not be in any pain during your recovery.
Some people will see an immediate improvement in addition to long-term benefits. Contouring and tightening occurs rapidly over the first 3-4 months and you will see a continued improvement for up to a year after your treatment.
Your FaceTite and AccuTite procedure is an outpatient treatment performed under local anesthesia. Dr. Cho will make a tiny incision in the treatment area. The incisions are so small that it does not leave a visible scar or require any stitches. He will then insert a cannula into the incision where it will heat tissue found below the skin surface. An electrode is passed over the skin surface to generate an electrical field to maximize skin contraction and coagulation of fat.
The procedure will last around one hour from start to finish, and you should see visible improvement in your skin after a week. 70% of the results become apparent within six weeks with continued improvement for up to a year. The device has built-in safeguards to protect patients.
AccuTite works better for small areas that have excess fat and some sagging skin compared to the sister procedure FaceTite. AccuTite and FaceTite are often combined with our Morpheus (radiofrequency microneedling) to stimulate collagen in the deeper layers of the skin.
A mini facelift is alternative surgery that is less invasive than a full facelift but requires two weeks of downtime. A “liquid facelift” is done with injectable fillers, and a thread lift can provide a lifted appearance for a year or two in the treated areas. Ultherapy uses ultrasound to achieve results and there is little to no recovery time after the procedure.
The most common complications are swelling, bruising and numbness. Burns are also possible but the risk is minimal because the device has a sensor for your protection. There is also a risk of issues that affect facial movement and create asymmetry. This situation may resolve on its own within 3-6 months. Sometimes contour irregularity occurs, requiring a second procedure like injectables, thread lifts, a facelift or a fat transfer.
