What Are Nova Threads?

Nova Threads refer to a treatment that involves hypodermic needles preloaded with a type of absorbable suture made from PDO (or polydioxanone). Polydioxanone sutures are sterile, monofilament synthetic absorbable sutures composed of materials that will provide wound support for longer periods of time than other synthetic absorbable sutures.

PDO sutures are used to perform cardiothoracic surgery (such as open-heart surgery) and are among the safest materials to be implanted in the body.
