Emsella Procedure Overview
FDA-cleared Emsella uses revolutionary new technology to help women suffering from incontinence. It is important to meet with Dr. Cho or Dr. Chiang to determine if you are a good candidate for the Emsella procedure. It is not recommended for those who are pregnant or have implants such as defibrillators.
Pelvic floor muscles that do not support the pelvic organs sufficiently can affect bladder control. Emsella is a non-invasive procedure that works by having the patient sit in a special chair that provides electromagnetic stimulation to the muscles of the pelvic floor. The result is rehabilitation of pelvic floor muscles that may have become weakened through childbirth or the aging process. By the end of the series of Emsella sessions, you should regain neuromuscular control over your pelvic floor muscles and your bladder for improved urinary incontinence.
On the day of your Emsella treatment you will be instructed to sit on a special Emsella chair fully clothed. Emsella emits High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to restore neuromuscular control by stimulating deep pelvic floor muscles. During the Emsella session you will have thousands of muscle contractions without any effort.
Many patients see an improvement after several sessions, depending on the severity of their condition. Results vary from person to person. You may feel some stiffness and minimal soreness the following day but you will be able to resume your normal activities immediately following the procedure.
Some patients based on their goals and expectations will combine the Emsella chair with Exilis Ultra Femme 360 and/or O-Shot to enhance overall results. Exilis Ultra Femme 360 addresses the appearance of the labia, internal dryness or sexual sensation loss. The O-Shot procedure is a very specific method of using blood-derived growth factors to rejuvenate the vagina to help relieve women with urinary incontinence and sex problems.
