If your skin is beginning to show the signs of sun damage and aging, consider laser genesis to repair your skin. Laser genesis promotes collagen production to treat fine lines, rosacea and acne scars safely. Dr. Chiang will meet with you to discuss alternative procedures and explain the process.
Laser Genesis Procedure Overview
Laser genesis is effective for all skin types. The treatment can slow the aging process and reverse signs of aging by stimulating collagen production. Laser genesis will reduce fine wrinkles, pores and redness. It can also help with acne breakouts. For the best results you may have to schedule a series of laser genesis treatments since the results are cumulative. Keep in mind that all laser treatments should be avoided if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you have any kind of irritation on your skin. In that case, Dr. Chiang will recommend an alternative procedure.
During laser genesis your aesthetician will clean your skin thoroughly to remove any oil and makeup. You may also receive a dermaplaning or DiamondGlow procedure to clear your pores, reduce oil and exfoliate dead cells on the surface of your skin. You will wear protective eyewear before the treatment begins.
Your aesthetician will glide the laser device over your skin, and you will feel warm intermittent sensations throughout the treatment. After the treatment you may receive a moisturizer, a hydrating serum like hyaluronic acid or a growth-factor skin peptide. The laser genesis treatment ends with an application of sunscreen.
Your aesthetician may perform a facial along with dermaplaning or DiamondGlow before laser genesis to clear your pores, exfoliate dead surface cells and reduce the oil on your face. Microneedling is sometimes combined with laser genesis.
There are several alternatives to laser genesis. You will meet with Dr. Chiang who will evaluate your condition and make a recommendation for an effective procedure. Alternatives include chemical peels, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and other laser techniques.
There is a higher risk to men who have hair covering the treatment area, since treatment of hair covered areas can result in pain or lead to permanent hair loss. Some people get a rash in the days after treatment, but it generally clears up in a day or two.
