Resolve Uneven Skin Tone and Texture with Laser Genesis

If your skin is beginning to show signs of sun damage and aging, consider Laser Genesis as a highly effective yet non-surgical solution.

Laser genesis promotes collagen production to treat fine lines, rosacea, and acne scars safely and effectively.

Dr. Chiang will meet with you to discuss alternative procedures and explain the process in depth during your initial consultation.

Laser Genesis: An Overview

Laser genesis is effective for all skin types. The treatment can slow the aging process and reverse signs of aging by stimulating collagen production and reducing the presence of fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, and redness. It can also help with acne breakouts.

For the best results, you may have to schedule a series of Laser Genesis treatments, as this treatment creates cumulative results. Keep in mind that all laser treatments should be avoided if you are pregnant or nursing or if you have any kind of irritation on your skin.

Your Laser Genesis Consultation

Before your Laser Genesis session, you’ll meet with Dr. Chiang to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. You may be asked to remove hair growth, such as peach fuzz, by shaving or dermaplaning the day before your appointment.

You should also refrain from sun exposure for two weeks before your treatment, and you may be asked to take an antiviral medication ahead of time to prevent cold sores. Your consultation gives us a vital opportunity to educate you about the procedure.

We’ll go over everything you might need to know about how Laser Genesis works for you, explaining what you can expect from the treatment itself and giving you detailed aftercare instructions to maintain and prolong your results.

Cleansing

During your Laser Genesis session, your aesthetician will clean your skin thoroughly to remove any oil and makeup. You may also receive a dermaplaning or a DiamondGlow procedure to clear your pores, reduce oil, and exfoliate dead cells on the surface of your skin.

Treatment

You will wear protective eyewear before the treatment begins. Your aesthetician will glide the laser genesis device over your skin to help heat up the skin tissue. She will then apply moisturizer, hydrating serum, or a growth factor skin peptide, as well as sunscreen post treatment.

Laser Genesis Requires No Downtime

You’ll feel intermittent warm sensations throughout your treatment, which is tolerated extremely well by patients. The treatment session is quick and easy and doesn’t involve any downtime, enabling you to get right back to your active routine.

Recovery Tips
after Laser Genesis

After Laser Genesis, you should not experience any peeling or burning that is often associated with aggressive resurfacing lasers. However, you may expect some mild swelling and a little redness. You can apply makeup immediately after your treatment and resume your normal activities. You will be instructed to use a moisturizer, and avoid sun exposure and irritating skin care products for at least 24 hours.

Complementary Procedures
for Laser Genesis

Your aesthetician may perform a facial along with dermaplaning or DiamondGlow before Laser Genesis to clear your pores, exfoliate dead surface cells, and reduce the oil on your face. Microneedling is sometimes also combined with laser genesis to create results that are truly comprehensive. When you visit us for your initial consultation, we’ll work with you to explore the various treatment options that can be combined with Laser Genesis.

FAQ

Do you offer alternative procedures?

What else do I need to know?

Are there any risks involved?

Do you offer alternative procedures?

There are several alternatives to laser genesis. You will meet with Dr. Chiang, who will evaluate your condition and make a recommendation for an effective procedure. Alternatives include chemical peels, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and other laser techniques.

What else do I need to know?

  • You will need a series of treatments to achieve the best results.
  • Laser Genesis does not produce good results for deep wrinkles or severe sun damage.
  • You may not see dramatic results until several weeks after your first treatment.

Are there any risks involved?

There is a higher risk for men with hair covering the treatment area since treatment of hair-covered areas can result in pain or lead to permanent hair loss. Some people get a rash in the days after treatment, but this generally clears up in a day or two.
