About the Breast Lift Procedure

Many women develop deflated, droopy breasts, no matter what their age. However, this is more common in women who have had children or who have experienced significant weight loss. Breast lift surgery is designed to remove loose, stretched breast skin and return the breasts to a more youthful position on the chest wall.

  • Average Cost: $7,600 to $15,000
  • Typical Recovery Period: Four to Six Weeks
  • Discomfort Level: Relatively Mild
  • Anesthesia Options: Local, General, or IV Sedation

Your Bespoke Breast Lift Treatment Plan

Before your breast lift surgery, technically called a mastopexy, Dr. Cho will meet with you to review your medical history and evaluate the degree of ptosis, or sagging, in your breasts. He will talk with you about your cosmetic goals and use this information, combined with information about your unique anatomy, to determine the right technique for your breast lift.

If you desire volume restoration in addition to a more youthful-looking breast, Dr. Cho may recommend a breast lift with implants. We can also work with you to explore additional body contouring treatments that might truly bring your results to the next level. We offer more than 60 procedures here at Integrated Aesthetics and will be excited to explore your goals with you.

Why Our Patients Love the Breast Lift

  • Breast lift surgery is a good option for women whose breast skin has stretched due to pregnancy, weight loss, or breastfeeding.
  • The downtime after this procedure is generally just five days, although you should restrict strenuous activity and lifting for six weeks.
  • Though you receive prescription medications, many patients only require over-the-counter pain medication. Complications are rare compared to other surgical procedures.

  • A breast lift can make asymmetrical breasts appear similar.
  • The procedure can be combined with implants and/or fat grafting to augment and lift the breasts.

Your Breast Lift Consultation

Before your breast lift, you will consult with Dr. Cho, and he will determine if you are a good candidate for a breast lift. You should be a nonsmoker with a stable weight in good health to be prepared for this procedure.

You will also be directed to carefully follow pre-operative instructions beginning weeks prior to surgery, including avoidance of all tobacco products, supplements, and medications that can thin the blood.

Breast Lift Surgical Details

During breast lift surgery, Dr. Cho will return your breasts to a more youthful position on the chest wall, and reposition the nipples so that they are proportionate to your breast dimensions. Whether you have a breast lift or combined breast lift and breast augmentation, you will receive general or sedation anesthesia, and the entire procedure should take one to three hours.

Breast lift surgery incisions may be placed along half of each areola (crescent incision), completely around each areola (periareolar incision), vertically down the bottom of each breast (lollipop incision) and/or along each breast fold (inverted T or anchor incision). Dr. Cho will explain his incision placement to you during your consultation.

Recovery After a Breast Lift

Most patients can return to work and resume their normal daily activities within one to two weeks. You will experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising during this time. Changes in nipple sensation may also be apparent but will eventually resolve. Dr. Cho will check your healing progress during follow-up recovery appointments and tell you when you may resume strenuous physical activity, such as exercise and sexual activity.

In general, most patients must wait up to six weeks. It is very important to follow all post-operative instructions during the recovery period and protect your surgical incisions from the sun since sun exposure can cause scars to darken.

Within three to six months, your breast lift results will be nearly final, and you will enjoy a more youthful-looking bust.
