Love Your Sculpted Physique with EmTone

Cellulite can occur when the skin loses elasticity, when fat chambers become enlarged, or when you have fluid and metabolic waste retention, and often gets in the way of our ability to enjoy our ideal body types. It’s quite common to feel as though cellulite is keeping you from seeing the results of your healthy lifestyle, and can sometimes result from poor blood flow and fibrous bands that pull the skin down. The EmTone is a highly effective, in-office procedure that is FDA-cleared to reduce the appearance of cellulite using radio frequency and targeted pressure energy. EmTone for Cellulite Reduction

Cellulite can be an annoying and stubborn problem, even if you exercise regularly and enjoy healthy eating habits to reach and maintain your ideal weight.

EmTone, an in-office procedure, is FDA-cleared to improve the appearance of cellulite using radiofrequency (RF) and targeted pressure energy, enabling you to bring your appearance across the finish line without any significant downtime or recovery period.

The Ideal EmTone Candidate

People with relatively good skin elasticity of all skin types and skin tones can be good candidates for Emtone. The treatment can be used anywhere on the body, where it tightens collagen fibers and stimulates the production of new collagen for tighter skin. You can expect to see your full results 12 weeks after your last EmTone session.

Emtone can help you address the presence of cellulite and loose skin in areas like:

  • Arms
  • Abdomen
  • Love handles
  • Buttocks
  • Inner thighs
  • Outer thighs
  • Knees

Your EmTone Experience

The non-invasive Emtone procedure is performed in the office, and it requires no anesthesia. There is no pain during the treatment, which takes about 20 minutes for one treatment area. When you come in for your appointment, you will lie on a treatment table as your aesthetician places a grounding pad on your back for safety. The aesthetician will then glide the EmTone handheld device over your skin.

EmTone uses radiofrequency energy to warm your skin, with the continuous movement of the headpiece and an automatic shutoff safety feature on the device protecting you from becoming too hot or uncomfortable. EmTone tightens existing collagen fibers and stimulates the production of new collagen, so you can enjoy tightened skin and a reduction of the fat deposits that ultimately cause cellulite.

Combining Procedures with EmTone for Comprehensive Results

EmSculpt, a body contouring and muscle toning procedure from the same company (BTL), can be combined with Emtone to result in reduced cellulite and enhanced muscle tone.

Do you offer alternative procedures?

Exilis Ultra 360 is a non-invasive treatment designed to tighten your skin and reduce fat when you have not had success with diet and exercise. Exilis can be used on areas of the body such as the face, jowls, neck, thighs, abdomen, and arms. The FDA-cleared device combines ultrasound and radiofrequency energy to destroy targeted fat cells and stimulate new collagen production to tighten the skin.

What else should I know?

  • EmTone will not repair sagging skin.
  • You will need four to six sessions for optimum results.
  • You will not see your final results until around three months after your last treatment.
  • You will need touch-up sessions to maintain your results.

Are there any risks?

It is not likely that you will have an adverse effect from EmTone, but there is a risk of a hive-like reaction and mild to moderate redness. Serious burns or nerve injuries are extremely uncommon since the device has an automatic shutoff safety feature.

Dr. Cho’s Approach to Body Contouring

Dr. Cho’s approaches body contouring by first listening to the patient’s goals during their consultation and assessment. He prefers to segment the patient’s concerns into three different components that, when addressed, can help achieve their goals.

Shrink

As we get older, our tissues lose collagen and elasticity. We offer many options to help with this non-surgically. We use energy-based devices to stimulate collagen and elastin production, creating a nice overall change in patients that show mild to moderate degrees of skin laxity. On the surgical side, physically removing excess skin is often the strongest option. This can be completed with a tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, breast lift, etc. For stronger results, we offer procedures like BodyTite, which is more minimally invasive and reduces excess fullness, while also addressing skin elasticity and sagging.

Tighten

The second component of body contouring involves fat. Volume reduction needs to be done in an artful way that enhances the patient’s overall shape or figure. We have some non-surgical options for this, such as CoolSculpting, EmSculpt, and Vanquish. These are all devices that help target fat but can also address some additional body contouring concerns. When a more dramatic change is desired, or if Dr. Cho feels that the patient will not be happy with an incremental approach, we shift our approach to options such as BodyTite. BodyTite helps to reduce fat and also tightens the skin.

Tone

The third component of body contouring involves muscle. With emerging technology, we can now focus on building muscle, which is a third tissue layer that can really help to enhance a patient’s results. We use devices like EmSculpt, which can stimulate intense muscle contractions and build new muscle fibers that enhance the shape and tone of the body. A tummy tuck or other surgical procedure can physically tighten the muscle units in a more anatomical position, allowing them to function more efficiently. Sometimes we even combine this approach with our non-surgical options to realign the muscles in a more anatomic position while also building muscle with EmSculpt.
