Beautiful Curves with Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation in Spring, TX, is by far the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery to increase the size of small breasts. Breast implants are customizable, so you can choose the size and shape that is ideal for your body and lifestyle.

Your implants will be filled with saline (saltwater) or silicone gel. The doctor will insert them through an incision around your nipple, in your armpit, or just underneath your breasts. Breast implants can be removed in a breast revision procedure if necessary, as is sometimes the case after childbirth or after a fluctuation in weight.

Implants come in a wide range of volumes and diameters. They also vary in the degree to which they will project from your chest wall. You can discuss these options with your doctor, and he will make a recommendation that is ideal for you.

How Can I Prepare for My Breast Augmentation in The Woodlands?

Before your breast augmentation in The Woodlands or Spring, TX, you will meet with Dr. Cho or Dr. Climov, who will assess your medical history and existing health conditions to ensure that surgery is safe for you. Together, you will confirm the size, style, and shape of the implant that will be used for your procedure. You’ll explore the details of your procedure, and he’ll answer your questions while providing you with pre-and post-operative instructions to help prepare you for surgery.

Dr. Cho or Dr. Climov will help you make decisions about breast augmentation options based on your cosmetic goals, your personal preferences, and your unique anatomy well in advance of surgery. When the day of your procedure arrives, you will feel comfortable and have realistic expectations of the outcome you can expect from your breast implants, as it’s our goal to ensure that you’re educated on all the options available to you and that you have realistic expectations for your results.

All breast augmentation patients are required to refrain from using tobacco products, consuming alcohol, and taking supplements and medications that can thin the blood in the weeks leading up to surgery. In addition to the size and type of implant you choose (saline, silicone, or cohesive gel), you’ll explore a variety of other options to customize your breast augmentation results, including:

  • Breast implant shape
  • Implant projection (low, moderate, moderate plus, high profile, or extra high profile)
  • Implant placement (over, under, or partially under the chest muscles)
  • Incision location (in the breast folds, around the areolas, or along the armpits)

Which Complementary Procedures Pair Well With Breast Augmentation?

Some people choose to combine breast augmentation with breast lift surgery for further enhancement. We always offer our patients the ability to create truly comprehensive results, and will educate you on the various ways that you can create your ideal look. Women who also have a lot of stretch marks on their breasts but are not quite ready for a breast lift may consider using BodyTite to strengthen the breast tissue to support the augmented breast and prolong the results. Dr. Cho and Dr. Climov may also offer the use of an internal bra to support the implant from below and further decrease the effects of gravity on the breasts and prolong the results.

Fat grafting to the breast can further shape the breasts to soften the transition between the chest and breast, enhance cleavage, decrease the bony ribs shadowing through, and more. Some women will also consider adding body contouring procedures such as tummy tucks to consolidate the recovery and enhance their overall body shape outcomes, while others may include skin tightening procedures like CO2 laser resurfacing or Morpheus8 to create a firmer, more supple look overall. During your consultation, we’ll help you explore all your options and build a truly bespoke treatment plan.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

To qualify for breast augmentation, patients must be healthy non-smokers who are free from any current uncontrolled medical concerns that might interfere with surgery or its recovery. They should also have realistic expectations, anticipating improvement rather than “perfection” when it comes to their results.

In general, breast augmentation is an excellent choice for women whose breasts have lost volume due to pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or the natural aging process or for those who were born with smaller breasts. Our experienced team in The Woodlands and Spring, TX, will meet with you for a private consultation, during which you will undergo an in-depth physical assessment and review of your medical history to ensure the procedure will achieve your goals safely and effectively.

What is Recovery Like After Breast Augmentation in The Woodlands?

Once the initial recovery period has passed, you may return to work and other normal daily activities. Heavy lifting and strenuous activity may be restricted for about six weeks. Dr. Cho or Dr. Climov will tell you exactly when you may resume certain activities after monitoring your healing progress during follow-up appointments. You’ll experience moderate discomfort but Dr. Cho and Dr. Climov will ensure that you have everything you need to remain comfortable and maintain your swelling during the recovery process. Our team will also be available to you at all times, to answer any questions and address any concerns that you might have.

Within about three to six months, you can expect to enjoy your lovely new curves and final breast augmentation results. However, remember that it may take as long as a year for scars to fade and minor residual swelling to disappear completely.

We’ll be sure to schedule follow-up appointments with you to ensure that you’re healing properly, so you can enjoy peace of mind as we guide you through your recovery process and prepare you for your exciting final results.

Breast Augmentation FAQ

Do you offer alternative procedures?

What else do I need to know?

Are there any risks involved?

Do you offer alternative procedures?

Breast augmentation surgery uses saline, silicone, or cohesive gel breast implants, or it can also be performed by breast fat transfer via liposuction. There are limits to fat grafting based on your current breast size and the availability of donor fat. Fat grafting becomes an option for those with sufficient donor fat and who desire a more modest increase in breast size. Fat grafting patients also find gratifying the secondary benefit of enhancing the shape of the region where the fat was removed.

Dr. Cho will meet with you to discuss the best option for you.

What else do I need to know?

  • Some women may develop neck/back pain if they go very large with their augmentation.
  • Conditions like pregnancy, weight loss, and menopause after your surgery may affect the results of breast augmentation.
  • Some women experience numbness as the nerves will be stretched and/or cut during surgery. In most cases sensation is preserved or return to normal. For a minority of women, the numbness may persist.

Are there any risks involved?

For those who choose to have a silicone implant for breast augmentation, the US FDA advises biannual MRIs to look for possible “silent ruptures” that don’t cause symptoms. There are other risks as well, including infection, fluid buildup, painful scar tissue around the implant, and skin wrinkling over the implant.
