Integrated Aesthetics: Your Home for Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are very popular procedures that create impressive results with minimal downtime. They are incredibly versatile and can be used to add support, add volume, or diminish lines and folds. Volume loss is a common aspect of the aging process, and studies have shown that the face starts losing bony and soft-tissue support around the mid-twenties. This loss progresses at a faster rate as each decade passes, making dermal fillers an exciting way to address some of the less exciting aspects of the aging process. Our team has extensive experience with injectable treatments and will work closely with you to ensure that you enjoy the results you deserve. We’re also excited to offer more than 60 different surgical and non-surgical treatment options, making Integrated Aesthetics your destination for truly comprehensive results, thanks to our comprehensive approach. Dermal Fillers can be an Impressively Effective Solution

With dermal fillers, you’ll enjoy immediate results and a nearly nonexistent recovery period. Discomfort, swelling, and bruising, if present, will only last for a few days. Depending on the amount of work to do, your dermal filler procedure may be spaced over several appointments, with each treatment building on the previous one. When you visit us for your consultation, we’ll be able to work closely with you to craft a bespoke treatment plan that sees you enjoying your ideal look.

Am I a Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Listen to Dr. Chiang discuss the ideal candidates for dermal fillers, also known as HA fillers (Hyaluronic Acid fillers).

Creating Aesthetic Results with Dermal Fillers

In our practice, we focus on natural results. The best way to maintain and restore your physical appearance is by analyzing what has been lost through the natural aging process, so your consultation will start with a physical examination that gives us the ability to zero in on the ideal pathway to your ideal results. We commonly recommended a "full-face" treatment plans, rather than focusing on an isolated area, to create naturalistic and comprehensive results.

We also look to see whether you might benefit from the enhancement of a particular feature. By looking at the overall proportions of your features and how they relate to each other, we can make customized recommendations based on what may benefit your particular constellation of features. Dermal filler procedures work well with all other aesthetic procedures and can complement wrinkle reducers and energy-based procedures.

What Areas can be Treated with Dermal Fillers?

Jawline Filler

There are aesthetic benefits to be had from jawline filler such as a more defined separation between your jawline and neck, a more symmetrical jawline, a more youthful appearance, and a reduction in the signs of aging such as sagging skin and wrinkles.

Cheek Filler

Full cheekbones are a sign of youth, but as we age, our supportive fat, collagen and elastin stores deplete in the cheeks, causing them to sag and droop. Cheek fillers achieve lift by making your cheekbones more prominent, pronounced and perfectly shaped.

Lip Filler

Lip injections have become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed today.  A full, soft pout can be a nice compliment to your other facial features. There are many different brands of lip fillers, including Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Perlane®.

Jawline Sculpting/Contouring

Non-surgical jawline sculpting, or contouring, is also referred to as jaw fillers. It is a minimally invasive procedure where dermal fillers are injected into the jawline to instantly lift the skin, sculpt, and define the angles of the lower face, improve volume, restore overall balance and symmetry, and improve a patient's “selfie” profile.

The Five Rs of Facial Rejuvenation

Our exclusive method for complete facial rejuvenation, known as "The 5Rs of Facial Rejuvenation," is expertly crafted to comprehensively tackle the signs of aging and achieve enduring outcomes. Each R collaborates to rejuvenate distinct facial layers through a synergy of surgical and non-surgical techniques. This sophisticated approach involves muscle relaxation, replenishing lost volume, skin restoration, tissue repositioning, and facial volume reduction.

R1 – Relax Muscles

We assist in muscle relaxation and effectively diminish the appearance of wrinkles by targeting the forehead, crow's feet, frown lines, masseter lines, chin, and lip lines with muscle relaxer treatments like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxi. These muscle relaxers are also beneficial in reducing migraines, excessive sweating, and gummy smiles.

R2 – Replenish Lost Volume

Whether it's volume loss due to weight loss or the aging process, we can assist in replenishing the volume and contouring the face using fillers like Juvéderm, Restylane, RHA, Sculptra, or Radiesse. The combination of muscle relaxation (R1) and replenishing lost volume (R2) can make a significant impact. By utilizing R2 in conjunction with volume reduction techniques (R5), tissue repositioning (R4), and skin restoration (R3), we can further enhance your results.

R3 – Restore the Skin

At Integrated Aesthetics, we provide a diverse range of skin resurfacing and tightening devices to enhance the texture, health, and overall appearance of your skin. Depending on your specific needs, whether it's addressing discoloration, pore size, fine lines, or mild skin laxity, we offer various options tailored to target distinct skin concerns.

R4 – Reposition the Tissue

As we age, our tissues naturally begin to sag. Implementing strategies to reposition the tissue can result in a more lifted appearance. From a surgical perspective, we offer facelift options (mini, full, or extended) or neck lift. For less invasive alternatives, we utilize threads such as Silhouette InstaLift, PDO threads, or MyEllevate to internally lift and reposition the tissues.

R5 – Reduce Facial Volume

At times, as we age, instead of experiencing volume loss, we may encounter excess fullness. This can manifest as fullness under the chin (double chin) or in the jowl area. By reducing the fullness in the double chin region, we can effectively define the transition from the lower face to the neck. This can be achieved through procedures that involve fat dissolution (Kybella), tightening or melting fatty tissue (AccuTite), fat removal (Liposuction), or even fat freezing (CoolSculpting).

What age should you get fillers?

The appropriate age to consider dermal fillers varies based on individual factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and skin condition. Generally, individuals in their late 20s to early 30s may start to notice subtle signs of aging and may consider preventive treatments or enhancements with fillers.

How long do dermal fillers last?

Dermal fillers typically last from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of filler and area treated. It's best to discuss the expected duration with Dr. Cho or Dr. Chiang.

Do fillers sag over time?

Yes, fillers can gradually break down and be absorbed by the body over time, leading to a reduction in volume and potential sagging of the treated area. The extent of sagging varies depending on factors such as filler type, injection technique, and individual metabolism. Regular maintenance treatments can help sustain results and prevent significant sagging.

What is the safest filler for face?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally considered safe for facial use because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body and these fillers are biocompatible. Brands like Juvederm and Restylane are commonly used and have a long track record of safety.

Do you offer alternative procedures?

Fat grafting is often used to restore volume. In general, if a large amount of volume needs to be restored, our approach is to combine these modalities.

Can dermal fillers be used to augment the nose (non-surgically)?

Yes, dermal fillers can be used in a procedure called non-surgical rhinoplasty to reshape and contour the nose by adding volume and addressing minor imperfections. This can provide a temporary alternative to surgical rhinoplasty with minimal downtime.

Do dermal fillers hurt?

The sensation experienced during dermal filler injections can vary from person to person, but discomfort is usually minimal. Many fillers contain a local anesthetic called lidocaine to help numb the area and minimize pain during the procedure. Additionally, topical numbing creams or ice packs may be applied before injections to further reduce discomfort.

How can I reduce buising or help shorten my recovery time?

You can reduce the risk of bruising by avoiding the following for one week prior to your procedure: alcohol, blood-thinning medication like aspirin and ibuprofen, fish oil, green tea, ginger, and ginkgo. Please also avoid excessive heat and heavy exercise for 24 hours after the treatment. You may take or apply arnica to accelerate the healing process.

How soon after dermal filler injections can I resume wearing makeup or using skincare products?

It's essential to handle the treated area gently and avoid applying excessive pressure for the first few hours to minimize the risk of displacement or swelling. If there is any post-procedural redness or swelling, you may prefer to wait until it subsides before applying makeup or skincare products. Consult with Dr. Chiang for further guidance on this.

Are there any risks involved?

While millions of dermal-filler procedures have been safely performed, this is a medical procedure, and there are risks. The most important ones to consider are infection, especially if the procedure is not performed under clean conditions; hypersensitivity reactions that can result in redness, swelling, and/or nodule formation; and the compromise of your vascular system, which can rarely result in blood not being able to flow to the skin or, much more rarely, the eye.
